Gold ERS Award for Commitment to Armed Forces

Armed Forces Week is the chance to show your support to the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.
Here at Chemring, we are proud to hold the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award in recognition of both our Roke and Chemring Countermeasures UK businesses. This Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) serves to recognise and reward employers for their support to Reservists, Service Leavers and Spouses, Cadets and Cadet Volunteers. The scheme is the Ministry of Defence’s highest badge of honour for Armed Forces-friendly organisations.

As Gold Award winners, both Roke and Chemring Countermeasures UK, have demonstrated not only their support of our defence employees but also have acted as advocates to encourage other businesses to do the same.

With over 40 veterans and reservists at Roke, and 28 at Chemring Countermeasures UK, employees across Chemring are supported in their defence activities through several policies and initiatives. They are designed to aid their continued service, while making the transition from service personnel to employee as smooth as possible.

In addition to these positive people policies, we also promote our forces-friendly credentials as part of our recruiting and selection processes.
